i think people who dont work for renault, or are very close to renault can own one, due to obtaining software upgrades etc (trying to stop garages doing diagnostics cheaply and loosing buisness) however my local garage has one, but they are close acquintances with lookers macclesfield

madely heath motors were vexed to say the least when i told em they had one, and demanded to know how lol

I paid 4.5k for mine ages ago, seen a fair few on ebay recently they tend to go for 1500-2000 on there and thats without the CAN interface so no good for newer cars.

My mate has a garage and bought a second hand SNAP-ON one from the snap-on van.It should of been 3k but he paid £850.Its a cracking piece of kit and comes with all the plugs for the engine management with all but a few manafacturers.He says it has paid for itself in 3 months with the ammount of time he's saved finding problems.
I would have on of these rather than limiting myself to just a renault one

I have seen a laptop sell on ebay recently for 450, that was without CAN.

I think if you know the right people the system can be built for around 1500.

The Snap on kit is useless compaired to the Clio Renault use a specail interface sstem that the snap on stuff just don't work with its all locked so aftermarket need to crack there programming which for such a small market won't be done when there are a few people with the Clio out there.

You can get it or you could for £2.7k get it set up.

Our snap on system has found all the faults the renault clip has even the rear seatbelt reals problem that i have just had , the one we have is a good piece of kit should be for £3000
