I finally Get it!

I finally understand the Clio V6. Whenever I see one on here, I think thats a nice looking car, But there are so much better cars out there, And I cannot fathom why people have bought one over similarly priced cars.

They aren't very fast, They Arent built very well, TheyAre a body kitted Clio with a Laguna engine, The interior is no better than the 172/182, They are over priced, They aren't practical and They cost alot to maintain.

However, Just saw what appeared to be a freshly detailed Black Gold Phase 2 V6, Driving around casually. EVERYONE just stopped and stared. This was in an area where I commonly see Murciliagos, 911's, DB9's and R8's. Every body just looked. There could have been an Enzo on the other side of the road and people wouldnt have noticed. It just looked so right. I think most people were looking at it thinking what the hell is it. Not bad for a car thats been out 5ish years!

I then thought about how often I've saw one on the road, Not at a show but driving. I've probably only seen 4 since the phase 1 was released. I then thought about how often I see the cars I'd have bought with V6 money in my hand, And they are daily occurances!

I finally understand it.

i agree. ali took me out in his on sat night, and after slagging it, i actually respect it and understand. its the whole idea of being different. loads of other things you can buy for v6 money, but because of that, it makes the v6 that little bit more special.

See now i had the reverse last week. I was getting cash when a illiad mark 2 pulled up and the biggest chav got out and was looking at my car. I said nice car mate fair play.

I think the V6 is still a special car, I see so few of them on the roads (phase 1 and Phase 2) that when I do spot one it's always a bit of an event.

I imagine a second car/runaround would be a good idea if you were actually going to run one

nail on the head there.

when i was in ali's, it was the fact the engine is turning over at 6000rpm, about 10" from your head, and especially with ali's the fact the exhaust note is so deep and inviting, it all adds to the drama of the car. sure, for the money you can buy faster cars, but nothing that will turn heads (imo) and give you a buzz everytime you drive it.

for the record, 70 - 100+ was breath-takingly quick!

Lol, if people ask for an opinion on them i'm obviously going to say what I think (both good & bad) If you read through my posts you'll see that
If I thought it was a pointless car i'd sell up.
Never once have I started going on about them unless it's within a topic (which I didn't start)

How many times have you been in or driven one ?? What do you base you 'pointless' opinion on ?? The fact that you'd rather have a 4k ph quick & some dosh in the bank ?? Hmm, i'll stick with what i've got & some dosh thanks.

Why do so many people seem to think they are slow and pointless?? There might be better built cars out there for the money etc, but none are as rare and headturning as the vee. There aren't many cars that get people taking photos of, thumbs up from supercar drivers etc. Not that I've had that experience personally, but I've read enough threads from vee owners to know that's what happens!

I don't know about the others but at the RR day when Ali turned up with the Vee, my cousin and myself just turned and stared, the car just has such an immense road presence!

Normally people who think they can somehow relate because they own something that is badged clio when they couldnt be further apart to any other clio made, even the 2.0 litres.

my mate had never saw one in real life and just said "oh my f**king god!" he didnt realise it was really that wide in real life!!
