I need advice on suspension. (what to buy)

Just a quick one..

I recently got a set of used VMAXX coilovers. They are pants. I don’t get on with them at all and they don’t even provide decent enough handling to put up with the crashy ride. A few quick questions…
  1. What is the best suspension setup for compliance on the road with good body control on the track? I know a compromise is difficult but there must be something that comes close. In terms of budget I will look at anything as I have spent a lot of money on the car so far and so have decided to keep her and later this summer shall be having engine and box rebuilt with a turbo conversion.
  2. Will the newer black Ktec solid mounts line up with the older gold drill holes? I wanted the pure setup however I don’t want to drill more holes.
Car is a ph1; I am willing to change hubs and wishbones to go for the Sachs setup and am also interested in the new Nitron kits. I would like others opinions though as I wasted money on the VMAXX setup rushing in solo.

Just to confirm;

The Black K-Tec topmounts WILL indeed fit your pre-drilled holes for the Gold ones

I had the Gold ones first, until they had to be replaced under warranty with the Black version :)

Bilstein B14s, H&Rs, FK Königsports, KW V2s, Spax RSX. All depends on budget.

I am very happy with my H&Rs btw.

Living in holland I'd run billies. Especially as the roads are so good over there. I run billies over here with minimal discomfort yet very good track characteristics.

I have always liked bilsteins. Used to run them on my 205's. The roads in Amsterdam are shite by the way, I miss British roads believe it or not.
