Hi,
Welcome to the club.

I would say dont buy a car until you start to learn to drive.
Alot of my friends had cars when they were 16 sitting on their drives. God knows why they wanted to do that?

If you want to buy a car buy a car, screw age....but...the biggest advice anyone can take is to test drive a car before buying it to make sure its what you want and that it does what is says on the tin!! You may struggle at 16!

Theres loads of info on here about all sorts.

Welcome to CS all the same!

id keep saving hard until your 17, and by then you will hopefully have enough money to buy a pretty decent car!!

What engine size would be best for me at 17?

Cheers 4 the welcomes!

Firtly welcome

Personaly if your interested in cars and you've got a few years before you can legally drive and if you have the space etc build yourself a kit car £2k should build you something decient and so long as you use a small engine insurance will be cheap as its specialst cover. It will see of most quicker car due to the power to wight an you'll learn more about cars than any other way.

Its what I wished I had done.

If your looking at a Mk1 then rust the big killer under the doors on the rear arches sillsjacking points etc.

cheers eddie! But havnt got that money to spend lol! Although clio mk1 i may buy on my 17th b-day lol! Im wanting to join the RAF as a fitness instructor so lessons and test are FREE!!!!! as im serving.......so save up 4 the car lol!

Pay for the car as you build. If you want get a Saturady etc job in Tesco etc to pay for it.

You can stant building one for very very little just geta crashed/un Mot'd Siera and buy the new haynes maunla for builidng a cheap kit car they built there demo model for £1k Ok its not that post spec but hey its more fun than a Clio.Plkus if you don't like the army you'll always get hired in a garage or start your own up.

Go for it, i bought my clio when i was 16. Although bought a new clio MK2 after a month of driving.

Is good to have and can really learn what does what on your car. Saying that have built a kitcar too and would much rather do that first.
