Impreza Spec C

Well after buying the Evo last year the plan was to use it as a weekend car. Problem is that it’s too good now and I’m worried about getting stone chips etc plus being a 2 seater it’s fooking useless if I want to take the kids out.

So been on the hunt for another Evo past few months with two lined up. First one sold even though I was first down for it, 2nd one i put a deposit down, booked a trantsporter and went up to pay and collect with transport guy. Sadly the car was too far gone which meant I had walk away.

So I decided to leave the Evo idea as everything I was finding within my budget is/was pure shite.

Instead I turned back to the Impreza. I really enjoy my bug and although it’s really well setup I wanted something a little more focused and family friendly (noise) so started to research what was available etc. You wouldn’t believe the amount of s**t that I have been offeredsome for serious money.

Anyhow I was offered this Spec C, high miles but like the Evo - buy based on condition. That I did, underside is great, outside looks like it’s sub 50k as does the interior.

So spent 8hrs on the road today to view and pay for the car. Transporter collecting and delivering Thursday!

Some nice mods fitted which is a bonus.

-Remap
-Coilovers although BC
-Lots of white line & Perin arbs, arms etc

Plans are simple, clean up engine bay, service, change the shocks and just enjoy it for what it is.

Noice, don't see many Impreza's on the road these days and that looks tidy.

Very nice, always liked white since I had a white blobeye :) enjoyed mine a lot until I grew tired of the MPG!

Lovely! Always hankered after a Spec C from back when I had my P1. Unfortunately they were out of my bracket to trade up into..... pity I didn’t hold the P1 as that wouldn’t have been a problem now!

Still have that itch. One day.....

Lovely! If it's for the road then ditch the fat ARBs, go for 19mm or 20mm front and 20mm or 21mm rear and a set of RB320 springs sourced from PCA Dynamics.

The hardest part will be finding front struts for a widetrack fitment but Tein have just released a new range of Endurapro shocks (not be confused with Tein Flex Z coilovers).

Once the car has been checked over and given the all clear that’s the next step. I will have to do a bit more research but that sounds feasible and probably more cost effective than me buying a set of Nitrons.

Short lived boys short lived 😂😂😂😂

Rac man recons it’s a boost leak me personally knows it’s the turbo.

I was anticipating clutch and cambelt so not really bothered. I killed it straight away so I know it will all be good.

8 miles and 5 hrs into ownership, set a new recoded for my personal breakdown best.

Wifes 40th also and had the kids so we had plenty to talk about for 5hrs and 30mins 😂

I have Ownen Developments and another really good turbo specialist down the road so it will either be rebuilt or replaced.

It was a pisser but I did laugh. I have owned a lot of cars and they have to go wrong every so often.

Specialist has confirmed turbo so glad I ignored the nonce RAC (probably late for his allocated Warzone clan time) and stuck to my guns as otherwise it would be a new engine.

Might be a few weeks as already mentioned, Turbo, clutch and belts.
