powertec apparently sound the best due to the metal mesh design, not so good for power due to it heating up and not sure how good it is at filtering?!

I swaer he asked this when he was looking to buy a car, can't you just look at your old thread ?
Correct, I remember replying then. Glad I wasn't imagining it, also iirc hes got a ticking timebomb of a cambelt that would be better changed than spending money on i/k thats he's not going to declare.

so much for my induction kit thread - i dnt want to change the cam belt, its too much money
No offence dude, but you need to sort out your priorities imo. No money for a cambelt, but dosh for colour coding, an air filter, plus a wanted ad for 172 parts.

Don't screw at us on here when your belt does go snap !

I've told him a few times before, he'll be complaining when a £300-400 job becomes a £1k+ one when it snaps (and it will). I hope i'm proven wrong for his sake.

if you can afford it get a viper, it made the world of difference on my 1.2. this is how it was attached, not sure about the ins and outs on a 1.6

i took my air box off and just attacked the piping straight onto the engine.
was a tight fit though as the silcone hosing is 70mm and the air inlet is 80mm so its just a temp fix as im sure it will fall off, but it makes a really good ANGRY noise :D
