Insurance/ mods query

Bonjour!

I am thinking abount changing the exhaust on my 182 and perhaps throwing an induction kit into the mix. Spoke to my insurance company (admiral) to see how this would affect my policy and they quoted an extra

£150 for the exhaust
£50 for the induction kit

The exhaust sounds a little steep to me but i dont really have anything to compare it with, what sort of change to insurance has everyone else had when changing various components?

Drew, it'll usually done as a percentage load on your premium.. eg if you pay £1500 per year for insurance, you will be charged a lot more for these mods than someone paying £300 per year.

Being honest, what other people pay is not going to help you.

Whens your renewal? I'd be tempted to wait and go with a mod friendly company.

Fair point! never really occured to me that it worked like that!

and i have only just entered the policy, not sure if i can wait 10 months!!
