Insurance Question (urgent)

  182
Hi Guys

I know some of you are good at this kind of stuff so quick question.

Basically I was in a prang 4 months ago which is still ongoing with insurance companies. Can i buy a new car and put in on my insurance policy whilst the claim is still going on???

Supposed to be picking up a car this weekend with some money my rents have lent me, but need to now this first and my insurance company is closed.

Thanks

Adam

You have an option when specifying accidents for claim pending. Click that option?

I mean the same insurance policy as it is still valid till March. Can I insure my new car on the same policy as the one with the pending claim.

Sorry probs should have explained that!

Yes it has been written off, but the tp's insurance company are stalling payment, and it could be a couple of weeks before I get a cheque, so my parents kindly said they will lend me the cash. I hope you're right Ben, as I can be driving again tomorrow!

Was it before they paid out and the claim still ongoing though?

Can't remember mate, it was 4 years ago.

IIRC, they paid me out minus my excess, while the case was on going. Took 7 months and a police report for the other party to finally admit liability. I'd bought my next car long before the case was settled. Infact, the next day I had switched the insurance onto my courtesy car as the car hire company said I needed my own insurance as I was under 21.

can i ask though, ive had an accident on friday an audi kindly wrote me off into a wall and admited liability to the accident, however now looking for a new car ive checked on confused for the best prices for insurance on a 182 od similar price and spec and age of car and its came best i can get is £1340 allthough a few months ago when i checked it said £940!!! anyone know why its went up significantly?

i just thioough that i hada rear end shunt and now my acrs basicly written off as the rear of the car is non existant, and now need to look fr a new car as insurance is sorting my claim out with the othr company insurance ( thhe guy who crashed into me)

have i lost my no claims bonus? or has my insurance gone up because of this?!!

^ until the claim is resolved, the accident will go down as pending so yes it will effect your NCB level and will increase the price.
