Does the fact a car is a Cat C affect insurance much?

I have a feeling it does but unsure on how much it will affect the price...

No it doesn't make any real difference although some companies will not accept them. You should disclose the fact the car is a former write and adjust the value of the car appropriately (ie a cat c is worth less than a non previously written off car)
