Hi guys, today my car wouldnt start wouldnt turn over, nothing at all. Managed to get it bump started and it seemed fine, reluctant to turn it off i kept it running until i got somewhere with tools..

Anyway, the problem seemed to go away car started with no issues, no warning lights nothing that would make me think there is a problem. Parked it up, came back out to it and it done the same again except this time all these lights came up >

These were on whilst the key wasnt in the ignition, i disconnected the battery and left it for 10 minutes and tried it again. Never cleared anything and it was the same? (The red immob light was flashing continually btw)

I got another member to come down and plug it in, but it showed as having no faults on board?

Disconnected it a few more times and it seems fine now? Very strange problem! Anyone any ideas? It would seem to be like the imobiliser is to blame as the car fires without hesitiation and it runs sweet as a nut and has done over the last 4 months?

Sorry for the essay but im trying to be detailed!

Cheers!

iirc my brothers 1.2 had this prob sometimes it would start others it wouldn't, and it was corrosion on the terminals to the alternator or starter motor

Mate, these things are a fuckin minefield when it comes to electrical faults.. Don't even get me started on immobilisers etc.

Looks like the MTU isn't switching something on/off so check the basics (power and earth connections) then start looking for signs of water ingress into the cabin area behind the dash near the MTU.
