i have a 182, miltek decat'd exhaust, ITG panel filter, is it worth getting matched inlets then a map? or should i chuck cams in aswell

all i want is the car to be just a litttle more nippier lower down torque
i dont want to spend money on going down the Turbo or supercharger

just want it a little more nippier than it is

can someone explain the difference between angelworks inlets and jamsports? or are they all the same

thanks

matt:)

AWT and I have a rather tidy inlet manifold upgrade kit on the way. That should sort things out for you. Based on past experience it should provide an essentialy flat torque curve on the standard engine with a very good increase in power.

Costs will be similar when you factor in cost of cams + fitting + map.

Of course if you stick some 428's in as well you'll really be going well!

I supply CAT cams too so if you want a price then feel free to drop me a PM. I tend to be able to do around £100 under retail price but it depends what the Euro is doing that day LOL

Nice response Icarus,
I have my Cambelt being done this Saturday and had been on the look out for some Catcam 428's at a good price for a while BUT now I've spent too much on loads of other things :(

I heard you wanted to run this setup on my car matt, as a test car. an i right ? :D i will happily run it for a while for free for you. ;) Will be doing 44miles a day aswell soon so will get a nice run out before production :rasp:

Bazzon - Just in the process of prepping a genuine sub 15K mile 182 engine to go into my Cup for testing mate............ if only you'd have got in before ;-)

For use on the standard ECU I always recommend 428's, they're well proven, provide good gains, work with the standard valve train and maintain good idle quality and low speed driveability. Are you anywhere near Leeds? Paul at RS is very good at mapping 1*2s running these cams.

Whats the inlet manifold upgrade kit?

Its a short runner, direct path inlet manifold setup with proper air horns integrated into the plenum base for flow and velocity benefits. It uses the standard DBW throttle body with associated benefits i.e. can retain the standard ECU, TCS system, Cruise Control etc. etc.

Essentialy its a road car version of an S2000 Touring Car setup.

Don't worry I will. Will start a full thread with pics and info once the prototype is done and a car is running with it. That way I can provide details on gains, dyno plots etc. etc.

Oh and I'm not joking about the S2000 Touring Car thing, S2000 regs dictate use of a single throttle body hence this is extremely similar to setup the S2000 Touring and Rally cars are using - albeit packaged to fit in a 1*2.
