ITG

Anyone know if the ITG Maxogen induction kit for the 182 is anygood? Is it really worth the £280 extra over the ITG panel filter?

Very much doubt it mate. Youll be lucky to get any kind of power increase from a IK on a 172/182, I had a k+n ik but took it off in the end, standard air box is better!!

I also put an ITG filter in on Thursday and I found that it ticks over better, has a slightly smoother power delivery, pulls better in 3rd 4th and 5th from low speeds, and it seems to change gears slightly smoother!!??, but as far as better performance goes i.e 0-60 etc then it is probably negligible.

depends if your trying to get every last bhp from the car, if thats your aim its the Maxogen you want

value for money though, you cant beat the panel filters

What Sort of sound do you get if any, panel and ik? on my old focus i had the ik and zorst done at the same time, because of this i couldnt here any sort of indution roar. This time i want to get a filter sorted first then proberbly go for a hayward and scott zorst.

Def improves throttle response, esp from low revs. Good £40 spent IMO.

I have an itg in mine and find for 40 quid it is worth the money , seem to get better mpg too ... Would you tell the insurance about it though ...

I have the green cotton panel filter on mine, it was a little bit louder at high revs.

Hard to tell if there is any performance difference, but i fitted mine when the car was tight with low miles. Since its loosened up with over 5k miles on it now, its definitely pulling better mid-range, but i dont think thats anything to do with the panel filter.

Quote: its a replacement OEM part therefore no need

That true? What about stainless steel exhausts that are direct replacements (such as a magnex)?

Neil, u got the full induction kit? Was it worth the cash, what sort of results did u get?

Yeah ive got the Maxogen on mine.

I dropped a Jetex cotton panel filter into my 172 last week. Got it from Andy at GDI. There is definately a noticable difference in throttle response. It is smoother with no flat spots and pulls stronger in 3rd and 4th. Whether this would have happened with a brand spanking new OEM paper filter as well as a high flow performance filter I couldnt say, but I am happy with it.
