k-tec brakes

  RB 182
hi all. Well its come to that time when i need new front discs and pads for my 182. I've looked on k-tec site and seen the carbon lorraine pads and k-tec discs package they do and wondered if anyone had tried them out before i decide on them.

if i was you i would get green stuff pads / brembo disks - if you want you could do ds2500 but i personally prefer greenstuff pads, also you should go for braided hoses,

if you arent too far from portsmouth you should go to rentech and get them fitted, i think mike down there is one of the cheapest around and has all of that instock

he doesnt post though i dont think

www.rentech.com or something similar also have a look at the dealer seaction to see exactly what he has in stock

thanks for that. i'll take a look at the site and see whats on. a few people have mentioned braided hoses but i'm not really up on the benefits of fitting them. will they help reduce or even get rid of brake fade as mine have always been quite bad for it. currently have standard discs with mintex extreme pads, standard rears, standard hoses and brake fluid. will changing brake fluid help as some say use dot 5.1 others say use 4 but don't these needing changing quite often

Dot 5.1 needs chnaging loads so IMO forget it no point in a road car no gains and loads of effort.

The biggest kilers on the 18 is the wheles they don't let brakes cool so they'll always fade the system quicker.

Dot 4 is fine pereferably get some very good stuff though but at the end of the day the 182 does suffer from bad brakes as the brakes cannot cool well you have to either chnage the wheels or got o a harder pad etc setup or use them less hard.

they are a nice pad but its a shame that they destroy you wheels moor than performance friction 97 brake pads.
if you what some decent braking performance try yellow stuff pads if you are going to do a tack day or two the ferodo ds2500 pads are worth while plus yellow stuff and ds2500 pads don't destroy your wheels
