Laser Alignment

Had 4 wheel laser alignment done today on my 172 at Powerstation in Cheltenham.

Worth every penny as the steering is far more accurate and they have almost dialled out the understeer

Also plenty of lovely motors to look at there. Whilst mine was being done they had a Lancia Integrale Evo on the rolling road. Sounded awesome inside a building with the turbo whistling and a dump valve.

£60+vat & takes well over an hour depending on how bad your set up is.

does nobody question the prices, they hook on some mirrors, press a button, then turn a nut till its in the green. 60 quid, thats 2 1/2 hrs labour!

Well worth the money IMHO.

Powerstation have an excellent reputation & in this case lived up to it.

its worth 25-30 quid........how can they cahrge that much, any other means of alignment is the same, just maybe a tad slower, but definately not an hrs worth!

I thought there weas no adjustment for the rears on a 172, meaning a 4 wheel align wasnt worth doing?

Dont Elite or Xtreme do the camber checking as well? This is what Im gonna need at some point so need to know good places.

That said, Evo magazine are getting their R400/R500/whatever set up by Hyperion - and the only thing on Yell.com that is motorsport related is Hyperion Motorsport, in Halstead! Havent phoned them yet, but might be worth a look.

a typical tracking session genereally checks toe, caster and camber for all 4 wheels.

Its not just the labour, its the cost of those machines. The one at Elite is fing expensive.

Had mine done at Elite a few weeks ago, Cost £19.95. Got printout of all the before and after figures, caster, camber, toe, total toe, thrust angle, + loads of other stuff lol it didnt take that long, and it drives absolutely perfect now. Pukka job.
