i think as long as they glow the right colour, then they are legal, i mean look at the new range rover that has them and london buses use them so i would argue that point

LED bulbs ARE illegal which is a bit stupid after the DOT gave there reasons. A normal bulb has a constant light as a LED due to its nature is not a continoue light and is produced by diodes being pulsed therefor NOT on continously which is required by law.

Its the poorest excuse I ever have seen personally as how many people have noticed a LED flickering! plus there brighter than normal bulbs anyway!.....They also say that the quality of the LED differs in pulses so a british standard is impossible to make.

LMAO wot a load of crap they coem up with.

So if there not legal, can we complain about all the NEW LED traffic lights they have been putting up, saying they are safer etc.....

HAHAHA makes me laugh

I sell them on my shop on ebay, I have blue and white 501 capless LED bulbs (blue are illegal to use, white should be fine to use on the road)

And I also do 12 led stop or stop/tail bulbs. (All made by Ring Automotive)

PM me if you want some, cheaper than demon tweaks as well:)

im either going for ring or piaa, defo changing sidelight bulbs but am debating stop/tail light bulbs, so how come you can buy those afterburner lights that have led rings instead of lenses and they are e-marked, a mate has em on his scooby

  car? need a license 1st!

What about coloured sidelight bulbs... They are illegal arent they.. my mate has some side repeater bulbs in his sidelights, which make them nice and orange (look good with the brows on) and he got stopped by the fuzz, they said "I think your filaments are going mate, get the sorted" and let him go!! rofl...

But are all coloured sidelight bulbs illegal.. ?

They must be legal (when CE marked) as BMW fit them to their new rear clusters - confusing!!
