Clay bar removes above the surface contamination won't touch it.

Megs Gold Glass Wax is mostly a wax with mild cleaners and glazing oils, will fill and hide the marks not remove them.

Working by hand will need some elbow grease. Beware of Harsh old fashioned products such as Autoglym Paint Renovator or T Cuts as both install minor marks and hazing removing the bigger defects.

Of the shelf working by hand get some Meguiars Scratch X or Mail order Car-Lack 68 - Hand polish kit
or Menzerna Intensive Polish (P091L) will also work by hand.

Most importantly how deep are the marks, if a finger nail catches and they don't look to go when you rub a damp finger on them they will probably be to deep to remove totally.

A deep shine is created in the polishing stage, ideally by machine to burnish the paint to a very deep gloss.
