Lightest Subs

  Ph1

Dont really know that much about the ICE side of things so could do with a little advice.

What size subs do you think would be best ?? 2 10" or go for 2 12" subs ??

And what is the lightest best quality Sub on the market ??

Was looking at a Kenwood 12" sub today and that was pretty light. Are they any good ??

I dont want to ruin the performance of my 172 so Im really wanting the lightest set up I can get but with a decent sound

Cheers

why go for two cheaper subs when you can buy just one sub costing double? this will save some weight, but also give you better sound quality. However running two subs will generally shift more air around the cabin. The cheaper subs are generally lighter than the decent ones, as they use smaller magnets.

as above, go for 1 quality sub if weight is important, dont buy 2 cheapo light ones

so a light weight sub is cheap and isnt as good sounding as a heavy one then ??

Could you reckomend a decent 12" sub ??

Or what do you think about 2 good quality 10" subs would that be a better way to go ??

generally the bigger the sub, the lower it will play. the smaller the sub, the more punchier it will sound. go for a 10" if you want punchy bass, for dance/house etc, or a 15" for r&b. a 12" sub does a bit of both.
