I am looking for some coilovers for my 182 as I want to lower it at least 60mm

Please can anyone advise what would be the best coilovers for my car

Cheers

Well, if money is not an issue i would opt for leda, if not h+r, bilstein, or even kw are quite good.

Yep, and besides they can custom build a set as well for you, like leda do. I had a chat with the german rep a while ago, they can do whatever you like to the coilovers, the only downside is that they dont offer a guarantee on race parts, which they are in this case!

KW defo dont do a standard coilover for the 182, so would have to be custom. Glad you sold them in the end Maz.

Leda, Gaz and Blistein (via Yozzasport) are the only producers so thats your only offical choice howver you cna modify 172 coilovers etc to fit.

As far as I know, you can get the same effect as coilovers (great handling and nice & low) by just buying a good set of uprated springs and shock absorbers (dampers) all round. Correct me if i'm wrong but weren't coilover kits designed with space saving in mind as well as handling and adjustability?

^ Got it in one...Eibac dampers and 40mm apex is more than adequate for track and road use...If you want it low, go for coilovers, but the ride quality will be harsh and uncomforatble!!! Get a strut brace if you want sharper turn in.

We'll see how mine goes round knockhill next yr...

Coilovers allow more adjustment - ride height and damping so you could go higher then standard to race car low also adjust the damping from rock hard to close to standard.

I have coilovers and just use my car on the road. IMO they are overkill. I will probably have a play with settings in the summer which will be interesting to do but if your not overly fussed for all the adjustment go for uprated springs and dampers.

A set of coilovers will ultimately allow for a better setup but some professional input will be required.

I do however rate my coilovers very highly and think they have transformed the way the car (cupped 182) handles. I am not sure if you will have a similar problem getting dampers for a cupped 182, in terms of availabilty.
