Making the evo lighter!

I cant believe how much weight i have just taken out of the evo. the rear speakers weighed 5kg each! must have taken about 30-40kg out altogether so far just the rear seats and stuff in boot etc.

gonna tidy all the wiring up and give it a good clean out. wanna start removing all the aircon nice. radiator, condenser, pump and all pipes etc.

it doesnt look as good as stripping out a hatch does it lol! but a good mod!

Looks quite good though when you can see into boot lol. least it doesnt look like a van like it does with hatchbacks lol

I remember the Evo 2 had a really nice big back seat and good rear speakers.

Mate of Jons had an Evo 1 RS with full cage and lightweight buckets. Also put out 350bhp+

He said it was very fast!

Rear wiper motor might save a few kgs

On these pictures you can see why the Evo is 50% stronger than the standard Lancer saloon. All them struts,etc

yeh was thinking that but it goes through the glass doesnt it.

need to get a trailor sorted for car. am pretty sure its something electrical thats the problem.

Cool, will feel even quicker when its back on the road. Just find a rubber grommit for the hole.

That double din HU looks pretty heavy!!

Just get a rubber blocker for the hole.

I seem to remember there are quite a few heavy bits on a 2. Bonnet isnt alloy like the IV > is it?

Never noticed on Jons Evo 2. The Evo 4s bonnet was mega light first thing I noticed when I took a look at the engine.
