Makita group Buy interest

Looking to get myself a machine polisher. would this be to complex and high end as a first machine? been looking for a while now. looking to spend 150-200

Why ..... the Kestrel SIM180 is identical to the Makita, I believe the weight is also the same.

Plus Paul Dalton no longer uses a Makita.
Realy? I was under the impression that the makita was lighter/smaller... I have however never used one though so just going off the DW fan boys. Would you not bother then?

Is a Rotary much better than a G220? Are the pads I'm using compatible with the Makita?

There better in the sense they cut correction time in half but you need to be alot more careful with rotory than the g220 - more room for error with the megs machine.

Your pads will work fine, but you will require different heads. rotory threads go into the head rarther than screw into the machine its-self.

If you're spending that kind of money get the Chicago or pay a bit more and get the Festool... Makita is no lighter or better than the Kestrel, as Matt says.
