Metal Fuel Rail?

Any alternatives out there that can be used? Even better if it has a reg built in like the Ph1 plastic one....?

I know James ran a modified Volvo T5 rail on his 172 conversion, but im guessing he had a seperate reg to go with it.

Trying to replace the plastic one with metal so decent fitments can be used on the fuel lines (screw type)...

Any ideas? Thanks!

Quite possibly interested in that acctually. Im guessing the Jenvy rails already have a screw/thread type fitment for fuel lines? Although if not I can get around that by welding some fitments on.

Aye, expensive compared to Barrons offer...oh and the AT one wont fit the standard inlet As long as Jenvy ones have threaded fitments on the end too...

Im sure there are other reasons, but my main one is I want to get rid of the 'temporary' joints ive got that are linking the 172 lines to the original lines.

It was for the past year or so...function side was spot on. You'll realise there is a different side to it over the coming weeks/months...a lot to come

Temporary was some cheap pipe joiners and jubilee clips under the car, its lasted the year but im doing it all proper this time round. All the brake lines are being ripped out as I want a manual bias valve, so if im going to the effort of doing that I may as well do the fuel lines too!

got a Mk2 172 pump here, doesn't fit in the Mk1 tank...the ghey float system is too deep

172 are 3.5bar or 3bar? Wonder if there are any cars I could get a regulator off thats fixed and use that...

evo pump is rumored to fit a 172, so you may have some other alternatives

Yes, Evo Walbrough pump fits the Mk1, but I dont think it has a regulator built in. AndyRg had to run an external reg at the same time with that too IIRC :dapprove:

Fred, does the Mk2 (Ph2) not even run a regulator at all, 100% controlled by the pump/sender or something?

Deffo has a regulator, but it's housed with the sender/pump assembly jobbie.

I have an 'uprated' one fitted to my 172 but don't ask me the actual rating of it is lol

nope, well there's the carbon cannister shite, but that doesn't count

Return usually rigs into the carbon canistor. So just have it vented to atmosphere.

Mine was in the wing still but I wouldnt recomend it, f**king stinks, lol.

Hmm interesting. Better see if the Mk2 pump/sender internals fit in the Mk1 housing then.

If I wanted to run the Jenvey rail then, just block the other end up with a plug correct? Thats if the Jenvey rail will even fit onto a standard inlet setup...

Ad's got fitments on both ends, and I think thats a Jenvey rail, hmm. It will fit but its now obvious there will be no way of it bolting to anything to support it I guess, not the original holes anyway

If thats a Jenvey one, just blank it off. I'll try and find a price on one from work dude, one outlet and fits inside a 197 inlet manifold so there will be a way to fix it to a 172.
