Miles Remaining Display

  Titanium 182
So I'm pretty skint at the moment so I'm avoiding driving with a heavy right foot, at all! I have discovered the miles left live readout and was a bit shocked to find it drops about 10-20 when I start the car!
For example I finished my journey and it was showing 135 miles left, came to the car this morning and after starting up and driving away I turned it back on and found it counting down from 122! Is this just normal due to a very cold morning? I still drove very economically mind you!

Thanks

It's not 100% accurate btw.
Well no I assumed this and was expecting some discrepancies but just can't understand such a drop in volume just by starting the car, it was -3 oC this morning so maybe it was the automatic choke, but just wondering if it happens to anyone else?

Doesnt it work it out on how you are driving? If the chokes on etc its going to work out the distance remaining to be lower?

Doesn't matter what the display says. When the red light comes on, you're low on fuel.

Because the display said so, doesn't mean a gallon of fuel fell out the tank over night...

think I will zero it all at next fill up and work it out exactly what im getting from that then, just worrying to watch it drop like that without even doing 1.2 mile

You'll find it'll probably go up once the car is warmed up and you've covered a bit more distance.

I always did about 30 miles or so on the 3 dash symbol.

It uses whatever your average MPG is on your trip computer and how much petrol it thinks is left in your tank) Thats why it becomes more stable the more miles you do without resetting your trip (assuming you drvie consistently)

I reset mine all the time and when my petrol is low it says I have 80 miles ish left! I dont use it much not accurate enough for me !

ahh well that explains why it was so erratic when I first turned it on a few days ago after filling up and resetting MPG!

Thanks for that, probably will settle down today or tomorrow then
