Mk1 bottom dash speakers

The grilles below the side heater things. Are these meant to be tweeters in here, or can smaller speakers be put in there place? If so would it be worth the sound difference?

just smaller speakers mate, ive got some in there, not sure if id notice if they werent tbh! but it cant do any harm!

In my RT they are tweeters and the speakers are in the door pods. But in my RL they are speakers, well were fitted door pods tonight.

so you can basilcy have 10cm speakers in the dash if you dont have door pods. I think the ones i took out were philips the standard ones.

Yeah, in my RT they seem to be tweeters although dont seem to give any sound out. I would like to put some 10cm speakers in there and then cut some holes in the top dash like mk2 Clios for the tweeters.

i got my mids in the doors and tweeters under the heaters - sounds good and gves the whole system a very stealth approach as u can see nought!
