mk1 clio Track car, help plz

hey all
was thinkin about getting a mk1 clio track car project on the go since ive pretty much finished my other project so ive got room :) hehe.

was just wondering how much money am i talkin at spendin and what sort of engine to get to tune the best 1.8 16v?? and all that. any info would help.
i no i could go spend stupid money but since ill be doin all work my self id be savin alot
would 2-3k be enough or no where near??? like i said any info would be greatful
just wanna have abit of fun :)

Pound for pound chassis mods are always worth more. Make it quicker for free by removing crap you dont need.

Ideally change the bottom end for a megane F7R bottom end. so much better. spend enough, i.e 2-3k will see 210ish bhp.

Yeah but if he is uprating brakes, suspension, rollcage? and other bits to go with a quick engine you're looking at either more than 2-3k or less than 200bhp?

If the standard engine is fully serviced and in good order leave it alone, spend the 2-3k chassis mods and this will see a car piss all over a 200bhp clio with a sloppy chassis.
