MK1 Clio with R5 GTT Engine Crashed.

It has cliosport stickers in it so I imagine its someone off here!

Any info on it? Im really tempted on buying the engine from the breaker, will it fit a MK1 RT 1.4 8V?

FYI, the engine will fit in to an RT. In fact thats what the car in the pic started off as. That engine in that particular car has been fully rebuilt I do believe so if you could do a deal with Brun youd be getting a goodun. Thats if he wants to sell of course!

I think BRUN wants to keep it, but the salvage company has listed it on ebay without checking with the insurance company first.

Think the insurance has told the breakers to sell it, despite the fact he has specifically asked to buy it back.

i really dont know mate

the situation at the moment is this....

the insurance company has given the breakers yard authorisation to break the car, the wheels and brakes have already been sold

i informed the insurance when i had the accident that i would want to buy it back, yet they have given the breakers the go ahead anywayz

basically i cant sort anything out until Monday, but i very much doubt me having the ability to sell this car now, i think what will happen is that i could get some kind of compensation from the insurance

the spec of that engine is far more than what is listed on that Ebay advert, far more, and it does not have a turbo timer......

if it ends up that i dont manage to get the car back, id at least like someone on here to have it, than some gimp who will destroy the engine that i paid a LOT of money to have done, its been well looked after with fully synthetic oil changed every 3000 miles....

ill try and post more up tomorrow, the whole thing is a complete mess, and if you have a modified vehicle, dont get insured with liverpool victoria, they will try and screw you....

How simple is it to fit the engine in in regard to the wiring? I seem to remember that you had GTT clocks and there was a fair bit of rewiring done by GDI?
