Mk2 Ph2 for under 2.5k?

  Tappd'd RS
Claire's mum is looking at getting a Clio but doesn't want to spend more than 2.5k on it.

Ideally looking for Mk2 Ph2 - open to suggestions on trim levels, no. of doors engines etc.

She does about 10-15k a year I think.

Seen this on Pistonheads - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/251465.htm

Ideally it shouldn't be too far away from Glasgow / Lanarkshire

Any ideas?

Cheers.

That ones an Authentique = no equipment and 8 valves, you should be able to pick a 1.2 16v for £2.5k, thats what I payed for mine with 48k.

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
The one above is a 8v. and needs cambelt, tensioners done. Thats why its cheap

1.2 16v is the 75bhp one right?

That sounds ideal - she had a 1.2 16v 75bhp Corsa beforehand.

Cheers.

well i got a 55 plate extreme for £3500 but that was a mega rare deal and also a peace offering because the 30,000 mile blue 51 plate dynamique i had a deposit ot was knackered and they hadnt realised. I had agree'd £3000 for that which i thought was a very good deal. extreme had a little less kit on though but had A/C and was 4 years younger and they come colour coded as standard.

  Mondeo TXS Bardge.
you should be able to find one try charles rooney motors in mount vernon or mount vernon cars you could be lucky.
for 2.5 it'll have high miles and be a y reg, and probably authentique ot expression.
the auth is the base model, the expressions the same but with a sunroof.
most you will fint will need the cam belt changing

that was a bargin, i'm still seeing ph1s gouing for 3k, in lanarkshire, dunno about he rest of the UK tho.....

Auto Trader. FTW

Depends on what she is looking for, if it's just an A to B car maybe look at getting a 1.5 diesel, just the standrad 65 one.

Low road tax £35 a year and good MPG.

Correct the Authentique is the base model but only has the 1.2 8v 60hp engine. The expressions have the 1.2 16v 75hp or 1.5 dci 65hp, they also have a sunroof, colour coded electric door mirrors, most have cd player amongst other things.

I have bought two 1.2 16v Expressions over the last two years.

1, Mine 2001 51 1.2 16v Pacific blue, mint condition 48k I paid £2550
(I sold it earlier this year for just under £2700 with 59k).

2. 2002 51 1.2 16v Cherry red, its not as mint as mine was but my brothers not bothered about cars, had 45k paid £2500.

I had mine for 11k of hard miles, nothing broke or went wrong, I gave it an oil change, changed the aux belt as it was squeaking and put new brakes shoes on.
The service schedule for the cambelt is 5yrs/ 75k and it cost me £300 inc the water pump.
Only problem my brothers has had is the coilpack which again is a common problem.
Hope this helps,

Alex
