MK3 Clio's

Test drove a dci 86 dynamique and the 1.2 TCE today, loved the feel of the cars, much better drive than my mk2 in terms of ride comfort etc. I wanted a drive of the dci 106 but they didnt have one. I found the 86 was a bit faster than my 1.2 16v thanks to the extra torque, the TCE was a great drive. I put them both through there paces, the girl had a 172 and was into cars so let me drive it as it was my own. Felt a bit bad ragging the TCE as it only had 5 miles on the clock, even got to the limiter but i needed to feel what it was like.

The annoying thing is direct line refuse to insure me on the TCE but will insure me for a decent price on the 1.4 16v, even though they have the same power just because the TCE is a turbo :S I think i may look into a 106 dci but i have to decide whether i want to commit to a new car or hang on for some more ncb's and get a better car next year.

Overall big thumbs up for the MK3

which one out of the 86 an the tce felt the quicker ive driven the 106 liked it alot but felt the extra insurence an tax were not worth it when you can remap a 86 an still pay 35quid tax an it will be on par with the 106s performance thats my plan
i dont understand why you cant get insurence on a tce id be weary over the cost on the 106 an 86 do some quotes first

if you look at the extra cost on them new its quite expensive the dcis also cost more 2nd hand

dont buy a 5dr

the TCE felt quicker mate, the dci had good torque between 2 and 3k rpm but the TCE pulled well from 2K right through to the limiter, obviously a remaped 86 would be quicker, loved the MK3 overall tho

Looking at the fiqures; remapped, the 1.2 tce can (maybe theoreticaly ;)) put out more torque and the same power as a 1.6 with better mpg, thats my plan ;)

Of course some one will come screaming in to tell me I'm wrong but w.e ;)

Bin the lot and just go straight in for the 1.6 Dynamique, whats an extra grand outlay when it comes to selling up?

Save the dosh get the 1.6 Dyn S like said the TCE could push out the same as a standard but spend the money on a remap for the 1.6 and youll leave the TCE for dust.....simple

What sort of power could you realisticly get from a 1.6 then??
