MOT fail&fix - problem - front suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint

  Clio 172 Cup
Hi all,

Just a quick question - I hope someone can help me out.

My car has been in for its MOT and it failed on these 2 things:

- offside front suspension arm has excessive play in ball joint [2.4.G.3]
- offside outer front constant velocity joint gaiter insecurely mounted to its housing [2.5.C.1a]

Anyway, I had these fixed today, but now when i'm driving in a straight line the streering wheel doesn't sit in the centre. It's slightly turned to the right when i'm driving in a straight line.

Any ideas what they've done??

cheers

I had exactly the same thing. I figured it's because the tracking was done previously to suit the worn ball joint, so when it was replaced it put the tracking out. I think we just need to get the tracking/alignment done again.

you've probably had the wheel alingment adjusted at some stage with a hooky ball joint in place, hence now you have a new one your geo is out
