My New Black Zetec S Mk6.5

Some of you may have read I had my 172 written off whilst parked up from a woman going into it from behind. Got my payout from her insurance and had to look for a new car. Really wanted a 182 but as i am moving out thought it was a good time to downgrade to something which is a bit cheaper to run/insure. (IPlanning on getting an RS again when I get used to all the living costs.)

Anyway i got this zetec s last weekend and I have to say i'm quite impressed. It runs smoothly and is quicker than i expected. No 172 performance but still fun. just had a full service friday which it passed all fine with no advisories :D

So this weekend i gave it a 5 hour clean :rasp: inside out with various products. (Not done engine bay will do that next week.)

My plans are to colour code, Very light tints, change the lights to xenons (was one of my fav parts of the 172). Think that will do for a while. If the missus lets me :S i may get some eibach springs and full exhaust system.

Yep - just the facelift Mk6.

Look's nice, I've missed mine since I sold it last year. Cracking little cars!

Awesome cars, you enjoying the gearbox? A piece of magic for a luke warm hatch imo.

Cracking car mate. I have the same but mine's due to be sold today! Gonna miss it.. but I'm sure a 182 will keep me happy!

Ye it just the facelift. Gearbox is nice and the car is quicker than expected. Really happy with it so far. Can't wait to get the strips and door handles colour coded and then going to get some really light tints.

Your ZS looks sweet mate. Can't quite see properly but did you colour code the handles, strips and the backs of the wing mirrors?

I go to this body garage who have done loads of work on my previous cars so going to get him to do it.

Ermm around £200 mate and the standard parts in exchange. Chris works for Ford so he gets all the genuine parts, paints them up and then swaps them with your standards. The work is spot on and it's handy too not having to be away from your car for a few days or however long the bodyshop need.

Looks awesome mate. :) Chosen a minter and loks really smart :D What are they like to drive? Is it the TDCi or the petrol one? Just really like these that's all. :D

Looking at getting one of these for my next car. Either in grey, black.... or dare I say the green? (with black roof not checkered)

So they are quite nippy eh?

It's a petrol. I was looking for a tdci but they were a bit too expensive. But i'm happy with petrol as i don't do many miles anyway and its a nice revy engine.

Not had a proper blast yet but it feels good round corners. and the gear box feels nicer than the 172. It's no 172 speed wise but it's enough for the time being whilst I get used to living in my new flat. Then i'll be able to go back to an RS Clio or similiar

I don't think it looks to high but think i might get some eibach springs just so it sits a bit lower.

I don't know if it's because I'm due to sell mine later, but driving it today it's felt awesome! As I haven't gone from a 172 it still feels pretty fast and the handling just felt effortless! Certainly gonna miss her!

Yeh does look nice. Ive got a 1.poo at the moment so im sure a Zetec S will feel quite fast. There are none around here for me to go and look at - otherwise id go down to the nearest garage and have a look

you may have to travel to get a mint one. The one i got was 2 and half hours away. Which isn't actually too bad

The limited edition versinos would look so much better with colour coded door strips.

If I get one il get colour coded door strips/mirrors, and take the white chequered bits off the roof (if poss). If not then il just get it resprayed black

Well i actually live in knaresborough but work in harrogate. And about to move with my gf into a new flat which are opposite the police station in harrogate.

plans are at first colour code, light tints and change the lights to get rid of the dirty yellow look.. Then might get eibach springs and full exhaust system

Ahhh even closer to home, i used to live in Goldsborough a a couple of years back when was in with the parents... Moved and bought in Leeds now:cool:
