Sold my evo the other day! so i had about £9,000 grand to buy my next prodject. So i hought i would try something different :devilish: Already owned a ctr & mk2 172 so it had to be the 182 or cup! power for pound the cup one, so last night i picked it up from its old owner. Drove 150miles back home and gave it a real thrashing. It aint that bad :D not a touch on a evo but it grew on me more than the ctr and my old mk2 172. Managed to get it sideways a few times, lift the rear wheels off the ground etc. So whats next! booking it into k-tec for next week and having the 4 pot conversion, coilover kit, de-cat new back box, viper induction, and the quickshift fitted :devilish::devilish: oh and a strut brace. Should be bloody good.

But i have to say there is quite a large difference between the cup and a normal 172 and i really prefer this! much more interesting

I love my cup but with that money Id be having a 360 cs, Aston DB9, 911 GT3 and an Audi RS4 for everyday use!

;) ;)

Seriously though, it may not feel as solid but the cup is way more engaging and easily as fast as a CTR

I feel quite safe in my Cup, but that little bit of uncertainty you do get from time to time, only adds to the driving experience. Danger = excitement!

Oh and with 9000grand... Id have a different car for everyday of the week! and a garage big enough for all of them!

i just hope these mods will make a difference, coz it will cost me a bit! glad i didnt buy a normal 172 not as much fun as this!

Wouldnt say I feel unsafe in my cup - it just doesnt have the feel of solidity my CTR did. Its just as grin inducing though, looks better in silver (than any CTR) and provides a pleasant surpirise, cos every time I get out of it I realise just how cool it looks!

Well having been in my mates CTR that crashed i dont think there is any way a Clio can be any less solid as it were...

We only clipped a few wooden fence posts at the side of the road and went across a flat grass verge coming slowly to a rest and it was £14k of damage !!!

Whilst mine is under warranty, I aint changing a thing on it. Theres no way Renault are gonna have any ammo against me in the event of a problem.

Probably best.. but I couldnt wait to sort out the handling.. plus it should only hopefully void the suspension from warranty work anyway.

Actually in my opinion there were two reasons for Renault to bring out the 182...

1. (the most important) to pip Peugeots 206 GTi over the line with a number!

and

2. to have a slight redesign to attract more buyers to the market.

What do other people think?
