Need info on 5mm spacers ? (also wanted)

  Italian 3.2 V6
Hey,

Gona buy a pair of 5mm spacers for the front of the 172 (to widen track and fill arches) few little questions...

-will I get away with standard bolts even though I have custom alloys?
-since they are only 5mm do they still come as hubcentric?
-can any1 recommend a pair or have a good quality pair for sale?

Cheers piers.

I have eibach 5mm's. You dont get huncentric ones as they are so small.
You wont have any issues

ive got 3mm on front of mine but have got high specs which have thicker disc so there fore using 5mm extra of thread and and one nice guy at mr tyres kindly rounded my wheel bolts off niceee the standard ones are only 23mm of thread with a 19mm od head and ive ordered sum 6 spline bolts that have 28mm thread and 17mm od head so they sit better in alloy and actually give u a couple of mm thread ;) thats what id advise if anyone needs 40mm threaded bolts it willl cost ya £24 including key and £18 for 28mm bolts including key :) and they are delivered prices pm me if any needed

I have recently spoken to K-tech about this as i am after some for the 182. Their responce was. 'you only need Hubcentric spacers, if they are over 10mm, and you will require longer bolts for any spacers over 3mm'. The longer bolts from K-tech where £1.50+Vat for each bolt.

And the Spacers where £20+Vat for a pair. I'd rather get the setup from K-tech, and pay the little Extra.

How much longer are the bolts?

Seem abit strange to me that 3mm are fine, but 5mm arent and you will need longer bolts, what are they like 2mm longer?

Hmmmmmmm

Dunno mate, thats just the advice given from Ktec, i'd rather Pay the few Pounds for longer bolts and know 100% they were safe.

Its not the length of bolts that worry me. its how much of the wheel is actually sitting on the hub itself.

5mm or 3mm is quite alot when the hub if probably only 8mm itself maybe, from the top of my head.

Well there still sit on the Hub, if only just slightly. You will struggle to find any hubcentric Spacers less then 10mm, if you could find any atall.

Thats my problem, i dont want it just sat on the hub slightly. One big jolt and thats a massive amount of pressure on the bolts.

Think i may pass on spacers, and just get hubcentric ones eventually :)
