Nitros

Wheres the best place to get some info on this or get it fitted near to Birmingham or not too far away?

Does your insurance go thru the roof??

in the N/W, if you fancy a day trip to manchester i can get it you fitted for around 500, thats with guarentees etc if your engine blows up! insurance will go up, but only if you tell them about it ;)

yeah buit he checks all that, he starts you off with 25 bhp, then you test the car or take it for a spin, hten you go up to 50, again testing, then you can go as high as you like but he only recomends a certain level, prob 50bhp in the valvers case!

Doesnt over-stress it if its installed properly. And dont forget its not running all the time - you only get a quick blast then your bottles empty.

nos wud put some stress on ure pistons. think about the incresed pressure pushing them down wen the nitros combusts. u could get hotter cams but then ure going into big bucks. if i were u id consider a turbo instead..more reliable and constantly there. plus i thought nos was illegal on the roads? coz i m8 of mine always leaves it dissconnected in his civic boz of the pigs

hmm

where do u normally put the bottle in the boot? is there clever way of hiding it anywhere my dad wouldnt see

Depending on the size of the bottle you may be able to hide it where the spare wheel goes. i have seen systems fitted to bike so you can get small bottles. Again the smaller the bottle the quicker you run out.

Like mike said though normally they aint small things

Nope, this is a common misconception which I keep trying to stop but it keeps coming up, there is nothing against the law about having a nitrous oxide system fitting to a road going vehicle, Ive talked to all the agencies etc who could possibly be involved and they all told me it wasnt an issue, the ONLY issue is if you modify your vehicle in ANY WAY and do not tell your insurance company about it, therefore voiding your insurance policy - but apart from that as long as your insurance company is ok with it you can have it fitted and use it on the road (Now dont ask me which insurance co will insure n2o because I aint got a clue lol)

Oh, and will people please remember that "nos" is a brand of Nitrous Oxide kit and not a generic term for N2O systems.

It was on 5th Gear or Driven (cant remember which) not that long ago and they said it is legal to use on the road plus your insureance doesnt go up too much. They fitted it to a Golf Turbo Diesel.

THey said it was for safer overtaking or some p!ss like that.

its legal if ur covered on ur insurance.

emmisions would be the only other thing, since levels would be greater (due to greater mass of fuel being burnt), but since it is only used in second bursts, this is negligable

"NOS" is an acronym for "nitrous oxide systems", as roamer said, not N20
