Non sport adding xenons

I always had it in my head Xenons where a straight swap onto non sports?

Speaking to a breaker when buying a bumper i was enquiring and she told me id need the looms as well.. She sounded like she knew her stuff.

Is a loom needed and what does it consist of?

Do the levelers work on non sports?

Just enquiring.

  3 Series touring
but if you want to get 1*2 xenons..you will have to swap an arm and a leg for them ! (£350 ish)

I was on the phone to a breakers, She said did i already have xenons, No.

Then "you will need the loom as well" "do you want a price with the loom"

So as said its a straight swap is it?

Im planning on getting working units and swapping them.

Or just the units without ballasts lamps or igniters and getting a HID kid that fits.

You could just get the bare headlight units and get an aftermarket HID kit but you may have to modify the wiring that way too. The reason being the aftermarket kits are designed for "h1" "H7" etc so the kit comes with a plug that fits on the exitsitng headlight plug on the car. But in the case of using genuine xenon headlights you'll need to fit at a guess D2S or something HID bulbs which are the OEM type bulbs)but that will probably leave you with the wrong connector to fit to the car headlight plug.

Best bet is to get them with the genuine xenon and ballast/ignitors.

They're a straight swap, she's talking nonsense. I have a complete set for sale btw, see for sale section if you're interested.

Yeah i thought she was, She did seemed to know her stuff, But then i thought hang on...

Cheers i will have a look.

Anyone know if those balasts will clip onto the headlight?

Nah they won't, different type of socket, and the plug is actually built into the ballast on sport xenons.
