suppose it depends where he has the laser sensor fitted, not come across a mobile cam yet wi mine so cant really tell ya

Basically wiht moboilew cams its has a detector, whihc is usually attached to the windscreen, this detects the laser etc being pointed at youtr car and alerts the driver, obvously this has to be in a place where it will detect teh laser.

Another thing is, the gun has to be actually aimed at the cra, of they werent aiming at him, then it wont go off.

The origin B2 is a solid bit of kit, this is hte first complaint i have heard about it, was thinking of getting one at some point

must admit its the first complaint i have heard too, was thinking of getting one as most people on here r more than happy with theirs!

the thing with the laser vans is they point at a particular car which they believe to be speeding, they also tend to aim at the reg plate of the car, and if your detector is on the windscreen it wont pick the laser up as the beam doesnt spread that much, and if its pointing at another car it doesnt stand alot of a chance of picking it up, you can get seperate laser sensors for some machines that sit near the reg plate.

the other thing is that the laser detectors only tend to pick the laser gun when your being aimed at, and usually at this time they have within seconds already logged your speed ??

thats what i thought. and other than that its proper bo like!

The radar detector is located in a good place behind the rear view mirror. just seems a bit wierd it doesnt alert for these!

yeh i got a new road angel and its really good, but with laser guns its very hit and miss, really does depend on were your sensor is located and were the little man points his gun at, you can get laser diffusers which basically confuse the gun and wont let it register the speed, but these are illegal and the man can tell your using it, so you could have big problems with it , and of course some vans still use radar and most machines dont pick this up at all

You can also change the thresholds too, the min. speed before the laser alert actually works.

e.g.

34mph in a 30
77mph in a 70

If your old man sees the laser trap in advance and slows down, it wont go off.

Settings for that are in the menus

dont they actually have to trigger the gun for it to emit any laser beam, they can see your car through the guns view finder very easily, not until they actually press the button does it actually emit anything

thats how i always understood they worked, basically with laser your not gettin away from it no matter what, unless as mentioned above you have a diffuser

The sensor wont do alot of good behind the rear view mirror mate, not if there pointing the gun at your old mans number plate. You want to mount it behind your grill.
