Painting my alloys

  Clio Dynamique 1.4
Hi everyone!

I'm planning on spraying my alloys dark grey, but i'm not 100% confident that i'll do a good job so i need a bit of help

1) Do i need special paint or can i use any standard metal spray paint?
2) Is the clear coat necessary? (i'm guessing so but just thought i'd check first)
3) Whats the best way of getting around the weights? Is it easier to take them off then replace when done, or spray over them?

If anyone can help me i would appreciate it!

Thanks, Chris

Sand wet/dry paper
Primer 2 coats
Spray with rattle can 2 coats
Laquer 2 coats

That's all I used to do for a DIY job did the trick

If you are going to buy new tyres at some point you will want to take the weights off and spray where they were. Then get the wheels re balanced.

Otherwise when you get new tyres you will end up with a silver patch where they take the weight off (Thats if they are clip on weights)
