ok after being with orange on contract for around 7/8 years i've decided £100 a month is far to much to be paying for a mobile phone bill now that i have just moved into my own house, so i'm thinking i need to go to pay as you go, but the quetion is, who do i go with? is it o2 that give you 300 free texts a month? who what other deals do companys offer?

sure i can half my phone bill at least!

cheers

yeah o2 give you 300 txts free a month, but you have to top up a tenner once a month.. plus you still have this tenner to use as credit. virgin have a similar deal, but its 400 txts a month

Don't know if Orange still do it but I'm on a tariff where you pay £15 a month and get 1,000 text's evening and weekend. Plus you get your £15 credit.

I had some 'outhere' package - 5 free texts per day on orange...no minimum top up. Dunno if you can still get it...

Na, you can't get that anymore, I used to have that too.

They changed it to 3 a day for a short while and then Watchdog argued against it and they had to put it back up to 5 lol.

You dont need to pay anymore than £40 a month now and you can have the latest nokia or sony erricson with 500 anytime minutes and 100 txts a month. You can also buy texts in bundles now so there cheaper...

well ive been on the o2 pay as you go, well i got it around 4 years ago actually! when it was still bt cellnet 'Genie' that gives you 300 free texts per month if you top up by £10 each month. However, you will find that these dont last very long and you end up paying loads of money topping up etc.. but the good thing about it is that you can only put on what you have got, and so only spend as such. the only reason im on PAG is because i spend so much time out of the country it s a waste of time getting a contract as id be wasting half of it. To be fair though, ive just ordered a new one from orange for 50p, when you register it you get the same package as on o2, 300 texts for £10 but the more you put on the more you get back. so if you put £30 per month which lets be honest if you are anything like me you will do more than that! you get 1000texts the following month. which in my scenario is much better than the 300 free for £10. the only downside is that you will always be a month behind, so for example if you put £30 on one month, it will only be the next month you get the texts, which i guess isnt that bad but some people may not like it. get yours today! haha oh you get 1mb download per month too which is always good for checking emails. so thats what i think is the best at the mo, oh and if im not mistaken, this offer is also available in conjuction with the 'upto 50% reward' too, so its a winner for me!

o2 ripped me off for the last time this month, i normally let the direct debit go through, but quickly looked at my bill couple days before he due date for taking money, it read £99! i have used my phone for maybe 10 minutes of calls and about 20 texts due to it being broken and them taking so long to fix it! i get 500txts and 200mins a month free, and they try and charge me £99>! i phoned and said keep the handset, i dont intend to pay another penny, as they have done this twice before.been a week and havent recieved my handset back, so assuming they will leave it at that! got O2 PAYG 300 free txts sim card here to go in my nice new handset, so should be good, only prob is i lost my number which i had for 6years!
