Please can someone accurately measure the diameter of the gear stick at the bottom

Hi guys,

Got a plan/ project on something and need to measure the diameter circled on the pic.

Could someone accurately measure using vernier calipers please.

Doesn't have to be extended or anything, just that rod there.

Cheers, do you have some vernier calipers to measure it?

My plan is to create an angled metal tube to extend the linkage to shorten the throw and position the gearstick closer to the driver.

I don't like the idea of welding it as I could just do this at home and by having it as an add on you could adjust how long or short you want it.

It's literally just a thought I had earlier and like playing around thinking of ideas.

Wrap a piece of string around yours, measure it and divide it by 3.142?
