Polycarbonate windows

  172 cup, Impreza P1
Going to get me some polycarb windows from acwmotorsport but just wanted to see if anyone thought the anti-abrasive coating at £60 for the fronts was worth it or not?

Yes. They'll still scratch with it.

The ACW stuff isn't great if I'm honest, they're not thermomolded and you'll need a lot of sikaflex 291 for the rear quarters. Try not to use anything else, or likely hood is you'll be refitting them eventually otherwise

Is it ACW who do the thermo formed stuff Mike?

No P2P do, it's actually really hard to do for the Clio apparently, they told me the rear screens are hit and miss. Don't think ACW do any thermoformed stuff for the mk2

I see, yea have a p2p rear waiting to go on mine. Agree with what you're saying, be interesting to see how well it bonds.

I went for the ACW windows and bolted the rears in. I coated the windows in a spray polish that they use on aircraft (name slips me) but costs 30£ a can. I would pay the 60 and get them coated. He does CS discount as well so money saved there will go towards the coating.

I didn't bother with the extra for Marguard - just carefull when cleaning and I have no scratches (7 mths old, 5 trackdays and 3 races too), the window vent sliders will always scratch.

Got the rear from P4P and it fitted fine, twice. Fitted it to the normal boot then removed and fitted to my fiberglass boot last week.

Think all four from Tony (ACW) cost around 170 with two pop out vents and a four hole slider each side too. Prices may have gone up as I noticed P4P rear screen is now 200 I didn't pay that...!

I simple buff the scratches out of my windows but think mine are perspex, they are very flexible not hard and brittle, so whichever that is

Id go for the hardcoat tbh, they may scratch a bit but nothing like compared to standard polycarb. The windows from P4P are really good, i have hardcoated thermoformed all round on my car, really nice fit. looks almost like standard glass, even have it on winders at the front and they go up and down like a dream.

It's only the fronts ill be fitting initially so that I can get rid of the window switched from the door cards so that my cage can be fitted. Do the fronts fit ok and just slip into the sliders with no sealant?

Also, do we get a discount as I don't see them in the discount section?

Well the P4P ones fit exactly like the standard window, I highly recommend fitting them on a manual winder instead of getting sliders. So much easier to get on with and the mechanism weighs bugger all.
