Powerflex 'black edition' bushes

For anyone interested i fitted these to the dogbone mount today at a mates garage (fvcking mare) here's why;

The two pins that press into the centre of the bushes for the bolts to go through were the wrong way around so i had to have them pressed in and out (didn't think to check this when the other garage i use pressed them in for me!) So that was a pain in the arse that was, having use of the ramp it took longer to get the car up high enough than it did to fit it!

Anyway! First impressions are good, i'm really suprised of the improvement over gear changes and how much it generally feels better! :D

The knocking on the sub frame has gone aswell which is good! The 'black edition' bushes are seemingly a harder compound, it feels good anyway and i'm happy!

£46.50 mate!

Alot less vibration than i was expecting in all honesty! The only reason i actually got these is because they never had any purple normal ones and it would have been a 5 day wait and i'm impatient lol

Yeah no you're right!

My old man had a bench mounted vice then he retired, now we have a floor vice. Not bolted to anything.

The sooner i get a house with a garage the better :(

After reading this thread i went outside to check my current bushes and suddenly put 2 and 2 together after having a good amount of engine play even with new REnault OEM top and gearbox mounts.

Powerfelx were fucked! to be fair they were fitted in 2009. I hope the black versions are a little more harder wearing.

Do you have the solid engine mounts as well or the OE units? as I'm wondering if you fit just dogbone bushes that this will take a lot more load causing the wear you can see due to the twisting force the engine puts on the mounts, that is worrying as I thought they should out last OE stuff as well.

Regards Russ......

Lasted quite well IMO, 3 years would have seen more wear on a standard item and not give the extra benefit for those 3 years.
