Protection. I need protection.

Seem to be buying a lot of red cars lately. Now obviously the paint is always faded/fucked on a 10yr old red car, so I always mop them using my rotary and get them looking ship shape.

But if I leave the car outside during a weekend of rain, the shine is literally washed off!!

What is the best wax/polish/sealant to use to protect the shine for as long as possible?

I had a similar problem with a pink-to-red Rav4 I did the other month. Machined to perfection but them after a wipeover with QD it went all streaky. I just had to keep going over with Final Finish, took 4 or 5 hits on some panels.

I sealed with Zaino Z-2 and it's still going strong now.

What you just put in that post may have well been in french.

What do I need to buy??

Makes perfect sense to me!

Up to you what you buy, but if it was me, I'd go with Zaino. You'll struggle to find anything the beats it on both looks and longevity.

SRP doesn't have much protection.

Needs sealing in SRP standalone is not that durable - use some Extra Gloss Protection or the trade Version Liquid Hardwax if you don't want to be ordering anything of the net.

Scottlm said that Dodo Juice stuff is very good on his Red R26. He said you look like a bit of tool when your rubbing it in to the paintwork by hand though!

Steve, the day I start rubbing polish in by hand, is the day i will certify myself insane.

Shall i use SRP then EGP? Or is EGP going to be enough on its own?

Get yourself some hard wax, poor boys etc just find something people recommend for the colour of your car.

nah dont rub wax with hand its an urban CS myth similar to people liking Inferno. Use an applicator pad its much better.

SRP then EGP then wax (Collinites 476 is very durable)

SRP first as it will clean up the paint nicely ready for the EGP - then layer on the EGP to protect.

Lol! I just use AG Ultra Deep Shine (or whatever its called) and AG Extra Gloss Protection....on the rare days that I actually clean the car. ;) I know nothing though, tbqfh!

Egp will take longer to cure dan ( you will have to leave it on longer before you remove it )

Hence why i suggested jeffs in my first post.

For the best protection, definately Carlack Nano topped with Collinite #476s. For a bit more cash Zaino would be my ultimate choice as it just lasts and lasts and lasts.
