yeah, we have it on the Cup - quick, and does save a bit of time - it was supplied and fitted by k-tec.

I had one on my 1.6 megane - big difference but takes a bit of getting used to! In my opinion go for it....unless you live somewhere really cold cos the knob metal will freeze your hand in the mornings!

Cheers definatly thinking of getting it. think u lot have perswaided me. Wheres the best place to get it from and its it easy to fit or take it to a garage??

If you can shift properly you shouldnt require a short throw lever...

tom-m - id say k-tec because theyre always promt with deliverys but no doubt there is somewhere else slightly cheaper. Personally, id have it fitted at a garage otherwise youll need the car well off the ground .

Soneji - Dont think its a question of shifting properly! If you dont have as far to move the lever its going to be better/faster when changing gear....

Can remember exactly but i think i had to pay about 80quid for fitting as they had problems getting my existing lever out and some parts were missing from the kit (probably as a result of my mate trying to hide it down her trousers at the pub the previous night! ). Well worth it though.

Not sure what it cost to fit on my 16v as i got it done at the same time as a service, but its only an hours job i think. And yes, its well worth it! I was fed up with the long throws between gears. You cant go wrong with K-Tec.

at 1 point i could get these for 100 quid but no 1 wanted them



they are easy to fit, if u have any mechanicle knowledge u can do it...

I would like to point out that if you do not use the gear knob but actually grap the lever its self it does the same, slightly superflous in my eyes......

wrong soneji, the quick shift has a shorter lever and a shorter linkage, so there is less through in the stick.

I would like to know Mal how it has a shorter linkage, you ripping up the carpet and dash and drilling new holes in the floor so its nearer the box?? lol Yes granted the lever top end travel is shorter, but not if you naturally hold the gear stick low down.. anyway it

a cheap way of doing it, is to cut down the length of the standard lever. remove the knob, and gaiter. using a hascksaw cut thru the shaft-about one inch down. on the otuer palstic sleeve theres several ribbed bits (ooo-er) which can be used as the lift reverse. a simple job, takin no more than 10mins. looks brilliant, the shift action is shortened nicely. very good mod imho

once i knew what i was doin! lol! there was hassles b4 hand, only cos i was ignorant with insufficient tools! lol!
