Ramair Filters, how they holding up?

Hi Guys

Just got my first 172 in monaco and absolutely love it.

Going to put a Ktec style induction kit on because they sound the nuts!

Now I was set on a ramair filter but came across the below thread and now a bit doubtful about them?

Anyone else experienced anything like this or were they just unlucky?

The Ktec IDK uses a Ramair filter, no idea if they are made for them or if you can get the same filter direct from Ramair.

I'm pretty sure if there were any big problems in 2006, they would have sorted them by now.

I wouldn't worry about a one off thing like that happening.

i got the ktec style ram air setup, its awersome such a good loud roar low down revs, then high up revs just goes insane. much recommend

Yeah I saw it was in 2006 but couldn't find any pictures of the inside of the filters so just thought I'd ask

Think I'm just gonna go with one! Can't wait for the sound!

Put it on in the end, was a really right squeeze but its in there.

Loving the growl when you put your foot down, just cant resist it haha

Apart from sounding lovely, becoming easily subject to some heat soak and the broken rubber edge, nothing compared to the wire coming off inside!
