Now for example say my 182 is on 48k and it's 2 years old now would you say it needs it's 4th 12k service or it needs a 48k service?

The aux belt has been changed at 36k on my imaginary 182.

Well thats my point there is no such thing as a 48k service IMO, it's the 4th 12k service.

I thought the only 'special' intervals were the 36k(aux belt) and the 72k(timing + aux belt). Im not sure when they recommend to change spark plugs but i do this at every service anyway.
Brake fluid every 2 years and coolant flush every 4 years too?

Yeah i know all this lol

Just asking if people would say it's a 48k service, (which imo is wrong as there is no such thing) or it's 4th, 12k service.

It's called..

12k service or 1 year
12k service or 2 year
36k service or 3 year
12k service or 4 year
12k service or 5 year
12k service or 6 year
72k service or 7 year (however we all know to get this done earlier)
12k service or 8 year.

Catch my drift.. your correct theres no such thing as '48k' service unless it's a special one.

4th year service on most cars is the big one, brake fluid, coolant, plugs, valve clearances(not common nowadays) Adjust wheel bearings if appropriate and some other vehicle specific checks usually.

Its more than just an oil and filter that a 12k service is in Renault's case.
