Rear Wipers

Has anyone experienced problems with the rear wiper?

My old one worked great until they wore out, i then went to Renault and got a new rear blade but it doesnt cover a full semi-circle, it missed bits at the top. ive had it on the car for 2 months now and use it alot (Farmtracks = dirt) but its not worn in or anything. Is this common?

My mate has the same problem on his MK2 and I also have the same problem on my MK1, so would be interested in the answer.

Mines always missed the bit of the top its due to the glass being bent so much there.

had a new one at my service, thought the old one was ok but had it shanged anyway.

now its just like yours, misses the top two inches.

Mine misses the top part of the semi circle.

Just changed the wiper blade today after 18mnths motoring.

I had same problem.. Sounds daft but have you took wiper off and clipped on the other way? I did this on the 172 and it worked fine? Stupid I know but hey it worked

But theyre moulded so only go on 1 way iirc

looks like a universal problem then... kind of annoying as its the middle bit the it doesnt reach which i tend to get the best view from when the window is clean. will play about tomorrow with the spring and see if i can make the blade tighter on the window.

INFACT! just had a brainwave!...start engine, turn the rear wiper on and then turn the engine off so the the wiper is in the middle in half motion... leave it over night and see is it helps to mould the blade at all.

Im off to try, will report back tomorrow.

My wiper has never made much of a job at the window, 18 months old now and still clears the rest of the window fine.

But yesterday popped out for fuel on the way I squirted the window (that aint easy from the drivers seat!) and the wiper had died no movement what so ever. Filled up and thought I would try it again just incase and hey presto working fine!?! Oh how I love renos
