Rev limit with new TB

  Bumder With A Buffer
Put a replacement standard throttle body in the Monaco on Friday evening and went for a drive today. Noticed that my rev limiter seems to have dropped from 7800 (I think that's what it was with th RSTuner map I had on there!) down to 6800 ish now. Is this normal???

Does/can the ecu tell there's adiffeent TB in there? I was going to reflash my cal file tomorrow to see if that sorts it out?

was it properly warm?

As in oil up to temp, not just the water.

Have a search you will find it will be because the oil wasnt up to temperature :)

I know that ;)

Had been sitting on the drive whilst it was cleaned round my parents place (f**king power cut here for 10 hours!! :( )

it was running for 15 mins on the drive before setting off back home and was warm, plus it's 20 miles to here from the rents place and has never had trouble fully warming up in that time!

7500, 7800....either way its more than 6800!

Seemed a bit hit and miss this morning on the way to work..fully warm everything up to temp and it was going well into the 7000's in 2nd gear.

Next time I stopped and did an accelerate/rev test it bounced at about 6800 again. Then on the last stretch to work I pull out onto a main road and its going well into the 7000's again before I pussy out and change.

Odd. Maybe wheel grip was the problem this morning/last night? Although last night I only tested it once, im sure if I did it again it would of gone into the 7's. Il just keep an eye on it..its not like I need to go that high for peak power.

Do you mean you were bouncing it off the limiter without the car moving? If so the rev limit will be lower to stop you rattling the engine off the limiter and causing damage. Don't rev an engine to the limiter when its not under load.

Cheers

No car was on the road/running/moving, I was testing it from standing starts (mainly pulling onto main roads)
