i know these threads are very common but if i purchased a 2nd hand rs tuner with the 98ron map , get it unlocked via fastchip etc , install the map , could the tuner then be sold on with me keeping the map on my car ?

yes thats the way i understand it and think lots of people do this which is why you see so many for sale.

Also are these worth the money ? Im not expecting miracles btw lol just i bought a bluefin for my fiesta a few yrs back and 2bh it was shite for 300 quid lol

You will notice the difference and yep it is well worth it, if it is the newer type rstuner the map will not work ,as it is only compatible with the previous owners ecu.

​So you may need to purchase a new map.

Cheers mate, if i bought a new unit, would it come with the maps already or do i have to purchase them at extra cost ?

You would need to buy the maps separately, some will be provided with the maps but will most likely not work as Im sure someone said they're locked to the vehicle... Use the ones provided at your own risk

If you buy new the 98ron map is included in the price ,but you still have to send a screen shot of ecu info along with the purchase order number to fastchip and Henk shall send you the map. It will be locked to your vin so it cannot be shared.
