Running 172 with no aux belt

Is it ok to run a 172 for a minute or 2 with no aux belt connected ? Need to get it onto a trailer .

No, the water pump is driven by the auxilary belt. If you drive it without a working water pump you will fry the engine very quickly.

I'd say yes if only to get on a trailer. You will have no power steering or charge to the battery. I wasn't aware that it drove the water pump? I thought that was done from the cambelt?

Itll be fine if its just to drive it up on a trailer for just a few minutes,but as said above any longer and you may danage the engine
