Running dci turbo on petrol engine

Hi, I'm new to this and have started a rat '05 1.4 Clio. Just wondered if it was possible to fit a turbo from a 1.5dci and what would I need to do for it to work?

Could work. But allot of work involved
Custom turbi manifold.

Oil feeds will be fun

Custom intake that'll take boost pressure.

Injectors possibly will need upgrading. And ecu will have to either custom or mapped to suit.

Surely the turbos in diesels are designed for lower RPM boost than that of a petrol?

Not sure how that would affect it, but can't imagine it would be too good?

Full boost around 1800-2000rpm , might be abit gutless on a petrol but saying that a 1.4 will be abit more grunty with a DCI turbo iirc

Fair enough. Looks like its going to be a duratec conversion then. Was hoping it would be a cheap mod to give it a little extra while i work on the styling.

Would work, but you would be better putting a diesel engine in your car probably.

Get your calculator out, find the compressor map for the turbo and get number crunching!
