Sat Nav Discs

Long story short, I've been supplied with out of date *copies* for my expensive sat nav system by Renault Manchester. Is anyone able to get me an up-to-date version?

I've had the car 20 months and only just realised so neither renault manchester or renault UK care.

I'm pretty pissed off, ok pay the extra to get a fancy sat nav system and they give me crappy out of date copied discs. Renault said £170 for an up-to date genuine set.

I've looked on the net and I've seen eBay. Basically, I'm just hoping someone on here will be generous enough to supply me with an up-to-date disc for the price of a blank disc and postage costs. Can you do thi for me? Know someone who can?

I downloaded what I thought was the latest "VDO Dayton" disc from a BMW via eMule which should work in the renault colour sat nav, but it didn't. The files had completely different names. Another wasted blank disc to use as a coaster.

Anyone not got ANY help on this subject?

Mike, what year/version discs have you got? Does/did your TMC ever work? Any chance of me getting a copy?

Will have a look mate, my cars an 02 reg so the software wont be that new, no idea what version it is, never looked as up until now it's worked fine. What's TMC?

I have a 2005/2006 disc with TMC for the Clio Sat system, there will be a small charge for time and materials so if anyone is interested email me and i will see what i can do.

Will mail you after work mate, what is TMC?? Do you think re-loading the software may fix my problem, as you can tell, I am no expert!! All I have is the box the CD came out of, would have expected some instructions somewhere??

You should have a manual for your sat nav system.

TMC is a function which if you turn it on can tell you about roadworks and traffic jams. If you look on your screen, it shoudl say TMC in either red, green or black.

Black = no tmc function on this disc
red = tmc is enabled but there is no signal
green = tmc is enabled and receiving traffic information

I'm still interested too mate but need to find out why I'm not receiving a signal first!

Check the back of the unit and make sure the aerial hasn't come loose. I *think* from reading in other places that the aerial plugs into the back of the sat nav unit and then a short lead goes from the back of the unit to your stereo.

Ok mate will have a go, going to disconnect the battery at the weekend too, worth a go, are there any codes I need if I do this or will it just be the radio code?? Where abouts did you read that mate, have asked on here but not got any joy yet!!

When I was trying to find out about the discs I searched google and found a thread on the parkers car guide forum. There is a thread on their about sat nav that is over 20 pages long or something silly.
