Scattle's Nissan R35 GTR

  Nissan R35 GTR
Hi guys, thought i'd put up a few photo's of my R35 GTR that I have recently purchased.

It's a White 2015 R35 Recaro edition, just over 20k miles, 2 previous owners, Full Nissan Service History, Litchfield Stage 2 - 610hp which is a Milltek Exahust inc Y-pipe, K&N Panel filters and a Remap, apart from that completely standard.

Currently I also have a Volkswagon Golf R which is a lease car that i've had for just over 2 years and goes back next May 2021, and a Daily 2001 Fiesta just out of shot 😂

I've wanted an R35 GTR for quite a while, and with some hard work and overtime at work managed to pick one up yesterday.

Saw one on Autotrader listed on 3rd August that had just gone live, however it was up for sale at Nissan Aberdeen in Scotland, had a tour of the car via video and left a £500 refundable deposit if it wasn't as described I could get my deposit back, my next day off work wasn't until yesterday 21st August, so I took a British Airways flight up-to Aberdeen from Heathrow, and arrived there about 11am, I'm based in Essex so it's quite a distance!

Had a good look round the car and couldn't fault it at all, had brand new Brake Discs and Pads fitted and new Michelin Pilotsport 4s tyres and a Cobra Tracker too, bodywork in fantastic condition and definitely as described,

Done all the paperwork and bank transferred over the money and was ready for the Long 560 mile drive back home to Essex.

Left the Nissan Dealership approximately 12:30pm and arrived back home at 11:30pm bang on 11 hours, pretty much clear traffic all the way up until the A1 near Doncaster as it was closed due to a bad accident the scenary and roads in Scotland where fantastic couldn't of thought of better way of driving the GTR for the first time.

Car averaged 29mpg sitting at 70mph on the way back.

Got some photos below, they are not the best just from the mobile phone, hoping the GTR fits in my Garage but it looks tight! Golf just about gets in there ha!

Very nice, has is lived up to the expectation so far ? I've wanted one of these for ages, thinking of going for one after my PCP is up on the Trophy.

Strange car these, absolutely monstrous in every way including their performance. I respect them enormously and they always turn my head if I see one.
Yet never found the want for one.

I imagine nothing short of a 911 Turbo will hold a candle to one A to B. Congrats on your purchase. 🙂

Nice ! cant see it fitting in with the Rolf but easy on its own  Thats a great first drive back (y)
Thank you
Good effort.
Thanks Pal

Thanks mate, I'd love a 911 Turbo S some day but that's another price bracket up, maybe one day hah!
Epic machine. I'd love one!

What 'stage' have you settled on in your head?
Cheers dude, stage 4.25 is only about £1500 to upgrade from what i'm currently at and power goes to 660hp and torque too 600lb/ft, not sure after that lol.
What’s buy, looks gorgeous.
Definitely a car I’d want some day!
Thankyou mate
Whatever happened with the Supra?

Awesome purchase this. Really good cars.
The Supra was repaired in a couple of weeks and back on the road quickly, it wasn't written off, it's been mapped and currently runs 816hp and 600 lb/ft, just the standard gearbox holding it back, from upper the power futher, I do have alot more photos/videos of the Supra, as it now has Black CCW wheels and some other bits, will update the thread when I get a chance too.

Thanks for the kind words

Drove one of these on one of them car experience days and my god, 3 laps of Dunsfold I will never forget.
Enjoy the traffic light launches.

Sweeeeeeeet 😍

Must be, er, a bit 'brisk' with 600bhp? lol

I'd have no licence in about a week :D

Is it true that they are fun to drive like evo magazine says and not the boring point-and-squirt machine that 'the internet' assumes they are?

What do you do as a job BTW? (if you're happy to say)

I need a job and it looks like yours pays well... lol

Hadn't seen this message, thanks mate, yeah it is pretty quick! Drove my Golf R a few days back after driving the GTR and it felt like something was wrong with the Golf :ROFLMAO:.

I'm a Train Driver mate 👍

@Scattle how're you getting on with this?

Hey mate, yeah all going well thanks!
Haven't done many miles in it as I tend to get the train to work or drive my Fiesta. But enjoying it for sure when I do go out for a blast.
Seen your purchase of the Porsche, what a machine, very well done, bet Saturday cannot arrive soon enough!
Do you live in Rayleigh now? I only live round the corner from when you were in Benfleet (use to see your Golf and RB182 and recognised them)

Not too much to update with the Gtr, went to a Cars&Coffee meet in Chelmsford early September with my Fathers Supra, which was a good morning out.

Also I had a Autowatch Ghost 2 Immobiliser fitted, more piece of mind now it's installed. Fitted by Autocommunications and covers all Essex/London of anyones interested in getting one.

Photos below..

Not too much to update with the GT-R recently.

Took it for it's 72 month service at Kaizer Motors near Rochester in Kent earlier this week.
Consisted of
Engine Oil
Gearbox Oil
Front and rear diff Oils
Coolant
Brake fluid

Also had 4 new Michelin PS4S fitted in 265 fronts & 305 rears with Alignment and a new MOT.

Also a new rear Fog light as the old one had a snapped bracket.

Havn't done many miles since purchasing in August last year, think about 1700, of which 600 was driving it back from Aberdeen.

My Golf R lease goes back in May, will have had it 3 years by then, so need to decide on a replacement for that soon, but not decided on what as of yet.

Thanks
Steve

These are so tempting, just the gearbox issues scare me off the earlier ones as they have the potential for some major costs which would kill me.

This years service which was a "major one" with all the transmission fluids changed too, was in the region of £850 at a Specialist.

Next years service which is just Oil and Filter and another few small bits should be £200ish.

Each service you also get a "Optimisation" which is wheel Alignment and a "Clutch relearn" of the Gearbox, these are done each service and included in the cost.

Below is the GTR servicing schedule with rough cost from Litchfield.

Thats bloody cheap to be fair.
My next minor service on the Cayman is due in may which is just oil/filter, brake fluid and to fit some new braided hoses which ive already paid for and its over £750.

Genuinely surprised at those costs.

I know you then have to factor everything else in on top - fuel, tyres, brakes, insurance etc. But for the performance on tap - those servicing costs are reasonable.

edit - you need to drive it more going off those mileage figures too - lol. 1,700 miles of which over a third was just picking it up in the first place! :p

Shocked at the price of that for a major! I expected £2k+ easily.

Oh god.
Thanks Guys.

Yeah the actual servicing costs are not too bad if you go to a Specialist, rather than Nissan themselves. Although earlier cars 2009-2011 are on a 6 month service plan, wheres 2011+ are Yearly servicing.

Tyres like all cars are preicey, 265/305 Michelin PS4S are £1000 all round. Pads and Discs all round your looking at £2-£2.5K at a Specialist again.

The early cars 2009/2010 do seem to have more Gearbox niggles, whereas later years these where fixed/updated and a lot less things go wrong.

And yes I do need to drive it more, now Spring/Summers almost upon us it will get driven more!

Have not updated this in a while, but had a few things done recently. Bought a Carbon Fibre spoiler extension and fitted, unfortunately the CF bonnet vents were an atrocious fit so got sent back -

A few weeks back to the car to SRD Tuning in Sussex for larger 1050cc Asnu injectors, Induction Kit and a new remap including Dyno, the result was 572Whp / 660ish at the flywheel and 605ftlb of Torque. Next stage would be downpipes and approx another 30hp but not sure if can be arsed with hassle come MOT time.
